Voice of the Players: Lorenzo Bucchi

Name: Lorenzo Bucchi

Age: 33

Current Team: FC Aarau, Switzerland

Where do you come from and what is your playing history?

I was born in Rome and when I was 15 years old I moved to Modena to play for FC Modena Youth team. After many years through Italy (Ternana, Fidelis Andria, Arezzo) I moved to Switzerland where I played for A.C. Bellinzona, Grasshopper Club Zürich, FC Luzern and now FC Aarau.

What is your biggest accomplishment in your sport so far?

Swiss Cup Final in 2008 with Bellinzona against FC Basel. Even though we lost, I still have great memories. I will never forget the 15,000 fans that travelled to watch us play in Sankt Jakob Park. On that day the entire canton was supporting us!

What one or two things do you currently do in your training that are key to your success?

I always try to stay focused and to analyse my errors as soon as possible. Even now at the age of 33, I think that I can improve my technique and my endurance.

What would be your ultimate achievement/dream?

To be back in the Super League with FC Aarau.

What was the best advice you were ever given?

Don't always look for excuses when you make mistakes or if you don't play. Analyse yourself and try to improve.

What do you do outside of sports?

I spend most of my time with my family. My son is just 10 months old and his birth totally changed my life. I used to travel a lot and practice my biggest passion away from football- surfing.

Do you have a saying or motto that you live your life by?

I always try to do my best and to be an honest person. That’s the only way that I will never have any regrets in my life.

The Voxplay team would like to thank Lorenzo for his professionalism and time in giving this interview.
