Ruben Loftus-Cheek for England

Ruben Loftus-Cheek joined Chelsea at the age of eight and has always been a prospect for the first team. However, he is now 21 years old and hasn't been able to secure much first team football.

He has found chances hard to come by at Stamford Bridge and has so far made just 32 first-team appearances for Chelsea. Loftus-Cheek was handed the opportunity to join cross-city rivals Crystal Palace on loan in July and he snapped up the offer, with six Premier League starts coming his way since he headed to Selhurst Park.

Loftus-Cheek has now explained what prompted his decision to leave Chelsea behind. "I thought it was the best decision to go from Chelsea to play and develop myself which looks like being a good thing."

He followed that up by making his England debut as a starter in Friday night’s 0-0 draw with Germany at Wembley that saw him named man of the match. Loftus-Cheek will now be hoping he’s involved when England play host to Brazil on Tuesday night.
