Svindal Returns in a Strong Viking Display

Svindal Returns in a Strong Viking Display

It was a great day for Norway in the first men's speed race of the season with Kjetil Jansrud and Aksel Lund Svindal finishing first and second in a World Cup super-G on Friday. It was Svindal's first race since his serious knee injury 10 months ago. He says that the high standards and competition in training has helped him return strong. Dominik Paris finished third.

On Saturday the first downhill of the season took place. Once again Jansrud was victorious with Peter Fill in second and Aksel Lund Svindal in third place. There was still no sign of any Austrians in the top 15. After last years poor season, fans were expecting improvements. The media is also worried as they would like to see the Austrians back to their best so that the levels of entertainment and the amount of supporters increase once again.

The next speed races for the men will take place in Val Gardena in Italy on the 16th and 17th of December.
