Player unions in England and the Netherlands have created protocols on how to support players reporting sexual abuse.   The English PFA, in collaboration with the national football association (FA), has set up a network including 130 counsellors, psychotherapists and psychiatrists (experienced of working with adult sexual abuse victims), and a 24-hour telephone helpline. Norwegian Para ice hockey player Lena Schroder has a big dream and knows how she wants to achieve it. “I really want to go to the Paralympics this time. But I want to be there as a player, not as a woman. French downhill skier David Poisson, a former medallist at the world championships, died on Monday following a training crash in Canada. He was 35. The French Ski Federation said Poisson, who won the downhill bronze medal at the 2013 worlds, was training in the Canadian resort of Nakiska for World Cup races in North America.   He secured his only World Cup podium in 2015 when he came third in the Santa Caterina downhill in Italy, and was fourth in the prestigious Kitzbuehel downhill in 2013. British motorcycle racer Daniel Hegarty has died following an accident at the Macau Grand Prix.   The 31-year-old Topgun Racing Honda rider crashed at the Fisherman's Bend on the sixth lap of the race of the tight street course and died of his injuries en route to hospital. The race was red flagged and not restarted given the immediate severity of the incident.   Northern Irish racer Glenn Irwin was credited with the win having led when the race was abandoned. Chinese Debts- Reason For A Local PFA

FIFPro is ready to offer assistance to professional footballers in China and other parts of the world where local player associations do not yet exist

 

Media reports this week revealed several Chinese Super League clubs are falling behind on payments, and FIFPro wishes to ensure that affected players have somewhere to turn to for help, if needed. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) recently warned clubs in the region to settle all debts by August 31, or face disqualification from AFC matches, a move FIFPro welcomes.
