Norwegian Para ice hockey player Lena Schroder has a big dream and knows how she wants to achieve it. “I really want to go to the Paralympics this time. But I want to be there as a player, not as a woman. French downhill skier David Poisson, a former medallist at the world championships, died on Monday following a training crash in Canada. He was 35. The French Ski Federation said Poisson, who won the downhill bronze medal at the 2013 worlds, was training in the Canadian resort of Nakiska for World Cup races in North America.   He secured his only World Cup podium in 2015 when he came third in the Santa Caterina downhill in Italy, and was fourth in the prestigious Kitzbuehel downhill in 2013. British motorcycle racer Daniel Hegarty has died following an accident at the Macau Grand Prix.   The 31-year-old Topgun Racing Honda rider crashed at the Fisherman's Bend on the sixth lap of the race of the tight street course and died of his injuries en route to hospital. The race was red flagged and not restarted given the immediate severity of the incident.   Northern Irish racer Glenn Irwin was credited with the win having led when the race was abandoned. F1 Needs Teams For Driver Development

Formula 1 needs more teams like former backmarker Minardi because there are currently too few opportunities for young drivers to break through, according to Haas team principal Gunther Steiner.


Minardi raced in F1 for 21 years from 1985 and was renowned for giving young talented drivers a chance with the likes of Fernando Alonso, Giancarlo Fisichella, Jarno Trulli and Mark Webber all getting their start in F1 with the team.
